The successful candidate will combine sound financial judgment, strong analytical capabilities, and effective people leadership with a willingness to remain directly involved in daily operations.

We are looking for a leader who can build a high-performing team, strengthen financial controls, improve processes, and deliver measurable results while supporting the commercial success of our furniture brands.

Key Responsibilities

1. Credit & Collections Leadership

  • Lead, coach, develop, and evaluate a team of 3–4 credit and collections professionals.
  • Establish clear performance expectations, priorities, and accountability standards.
  • Oversee daily collections activities, including past-due balances, customer follow-up, payment commitments, and account disputes.
  • Conduct weekly accounts receivable reviews to identify collection priorities, delinquency trends, and emerging risks.
  • Partner with Finance and brand leadership to resolve complex account issues.
  • Foster a collaborative, service-oriented culture focused on accuracy, responsiveness, and results.

2. Credit Risk & Account Management

  • Evaluate customer credit applications, payment histories, financial information, and overall creditworthiness.
  • Recommend appropriate credit limits, payment terms, and credit-risk mitigation strategies.
  • Monitor customer credit exposure and ensure adherence to established approval guidelines.
  • Evaluate delinquent accounts and recommend shipment holds, credit restrictions, or other appropriate actions.
  • Support the development and consistent application of company credit policies and procedures.
  • Balance credit-risk management with the commercial needs and customer relationships of each brand.

3. Accounts Receivable & Cash Application

  • Oversee accounts receivable collections activities to improve cash flow and reduce overdue balances.
  • Maintain hands-on responsibility for cash application and reconciliation processes using VersaPay.
  • Review customer remittances, match payments to outstanding invoices, and resolve unapplied cash and payment discrepancies.
  • Coordinate with Accounting, Sales, Customer Care, banking partners, and customers to resolve payment issues.
  • Improve the accuracy, timeliness, and efficiency of cash application and reconciliation activities.

4. Domestic & International Customer Management

  • Monitor domestic and international customer accounts, payment trends, overdue balances, and credit exposure.
  • Develop collection strategies appropriate to customer relationships, geographic markets, and payment arrangements.
  • Coordinate with international sales leadership and other stakeholders to resolve collection issues.
  • Identify elevated credit risks and recommend appropriate escalation or mitigation measures.
  • Ensure timely and consistent documentation of customer communications, commitments, and account decisions.

5. Financial Reporting & Performance Management

  • Prepare and analyze accounts receivable aging reports, delinquency trends, collection effectiveness, and credit exposure.
  • Monitor key performance indicators, including Days Sales Outstanding (DSO), past-due receivables, aging categories, and unapplied cash.
  • Provide regular reporting and actionable recommendations to Finance leadership.
  • Identify recurring collection problems and recommend corrective actions.
  • Support month-end closing activities, account reconciliations, audit requests, and related financial reporting requirements.

6. Process Improvement & Technology

  • Evaluate current credit and collections workflows to identify opportunities for automation, standardization, and improved efficiency.
  • Leverage SAP, VersaPay, Excel, reporting tools, and emerging technologies to improve visibility and productivity.
  • Develop and maintain documented procedures, controls, and escalation protocols.
  • Collaborate across departments to resolve root causes of billing disputes, delayed payments, and process inefficiencies.
  • Champion continuous improvement and data-driven decision-making.

  • Strong understanding of credit analysis, collections strategies, accounts receivable aging, and financial risk management.
  • Direct experience with cash application, payment reconciliation, and dispute resolution.
  • Experience using ERP systems and advanced Microsoft Excel.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities and collaborate effectively across multiple business units.
  • Demonstrated commitment to accountability, accuracy, confidentiality, and professional integrity.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with SAP and VersaPay.
  • Experience supporting international customers and cross-border collections.
  • Experience in furniture, home furnishings, wholesale distribution, or related industries.
  • Professional credit certification, such as Certified Credit Executive (CCE) or Credit Business Associate (CBA).
  • Experience implementing process improvements, automated reporting, or collection technology.
  • Familiarity with multi-brand or shared-services business environments.
