Position Overview Position: After-School Program Coordinator in Leesburg, Florida Schedule: Monday–Friday, 1:00 PM–6:00 PM Compensation: $17.50/hour , with opportunities for bi-annual bonuses and annual wage increases . The After-School Program Coordinator is responsible for creating and leading a safe, engaging, and enriching after-school program for children ages 5–12 within one of our affordable housing communities. This individual will plan and facilitate daily activities, support children's academic and personal growth, foster positive relationships with families, and build strong community partnerships that enhance the program experience. This role requires someone who is creative, energetic, organized, and able to create an environment where children feel seen, supported, challenged, and celebrated. What You'll Do Inspire and Engage Children Plan and lead engaging daily activities for up to 15 children, including: Homework assistance Arts and crafts Reading and literacy activities Outdoor recreation and physical activity STEM projects and hands‑on learning experiences Social‑emotional learning activities Team‑building games and creative projects Create a fun, safe, and inclusive environment where children can learn, grow, and build confidence. Serve as a positive role model while supporting children's academic, emotional, physical, and social development. Build Strong Relationships Develop meaningful relationships with children, parents, guardians, property management staff, and community partners. Maintain regular communication with families regarding program activities, child progress, and behavioral concerns. Encourage family engagement and participation in program activities. Create Community Connections Develop partnerships with local businesses, nonprofits, schools, and community organizations. Coordinate guest speakers, educational workshops, and special events that enrich the after-school experience. Represent The Tree House Foundation with professionalism and enthusiasm. Manage Program Operations Maintain enrollment at or above 80% capacity through outreach and community engagement. Track attendance, participation data, and program outcomes. Respond promptly and professionally to questions, concerns, and feedback. Participate in monthly meetings with leadership to discuss program development, successes, challenges, and opportunities. Maintain a clean, organized, safe, and welcoming program environment. Support Positive Behavior Establish clear expectations and maintain appropriate supervision using positive reinforcement strategies. Manage classroom behavior with consistency, patience, and compassion. Partner with families to support children's success and well‑being. What We're Looking For Required Qualifications Fluent in both English and Spanish. Minimum of one year of experience working with children ages 5–12 in settings such as: Schools Summer camps YMCA programs Availability to work Monday through Friday, approximately 1:00 PM–6:00 PM. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work independently while maintaining high standards of professionalism and accountability.
