Unit Description The unit comprises a total of 42 beds, divided into 21 medical beds and 21 intermediate care beds, providing comprehensive care for patients with various medical needs. Patient Care Responsibilities Expected patient-to-nurse ratios are as follows:
- Intermediate Care: 1 nurse for every 3 patients
- Medical Care: 1 nurse for every 6 patients
- Pneumonia
- COPD Exacerbation
- Diabetic Ketoacidosis (DKA)
- Hyperglycemic Hyperosmolar State (HHS)
- Alcohol Withdrawal
- Gastrointestinal Bleed (GIB)
- Sepsis
- Pulmonary Embolism (PE)
- Urinary Tract Infection (UTI)
- Respiratory Failure
- 1-2 years of nursing experience preferred
- Current ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certification
- Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification
- Tracheostomy care
- Mechanical ventilation
- High-flow Nasal Cannula (NC)
- Cardiac drips
- BiPAP therapy
- Telemetry monitoring
