We are seeking a compassionate, detail-oriented Pediatric Medical Assistant to join our dedicated clinical team. You will support our pediatricians in providing exceptional, child-centered healthcare to infants, children, and adolescents. In this role, you will be the first friendly face in the exam room, helping young patients feel safe and comfortable while ensuring our clinic runs efficiently.

Key Responsibilities

Clinical Duties

• Rooming & Vitals: Prepare exam rooms, interview patients, and accurately record vital signs, including height, weight, temperature, and specialized infant measurements.
• Exam Assistance: Assist physicians with physical exams, minor procedures, and use age-appropriate communication or distraction techniques to comfort pediatric patients.
• Immunizations & Injections: Administer vaccines and medications under the direct supervision of a licensed physician, following strict safety and pediatric dosing guidelines.
• Lab Work: Collect, label, and prepare lab specimens (blood, urine, etc.) for testing, and perform basic in-house diagnostics.
• Safety & Sanitation: Follow strict infection control protocols by sanitizing equipment and changing exam room linens between patients.

Administrative Duties

• Patient Communication: Answer incoming calls, address parent/guardian inquiries, and triage messages for the medical team.
• Scheduling & Triage: Schedule appointments, coordinate follow-up visits, and manage the daily patient flow to minimize wait times.
• Record Keeping: Update and maintain accurate electronic health records (EHR) and verify that patients are up-to-date on their vaccine schedules.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Education: High school diploma or equivalent, plus a completed and accredited Medical Assistant certificate or Associate’s degree program.
• Experience: Previous experience working in a pediatric or family care medical setting is highly preferred.
• Technical Skills: Proficiency in operating EHR systems (e.g., Epic, eClinicalWorks) and basic medical office software.
• Interpersonal Skills: Exceptional patience, a positive attitude, and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment while connecting with both children and concerned parents.
