Job Title

Registered Nurse – ICU / Bed Placement (Clinical Command Center)

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | Days | 12-hour shifts, 3 days per week (6:30 AM – 7:00 PM) | Onsite

Key Responsibilities

• Coordinate and assign patients to appropriate inpatient beds across multiple hospital assignments, supporting up to 500–1,000 beds per assignment
• Review incoming bed requests and apply critical thinking to ensure patients are placed on the correct unit type (e.g., identifying when a cardiac patient requires a telemetry unit rather than a general med/surg floor)
• Communicate placement decisions and concerns with charge nurses and hospital leadership as needed
• Operate multiple simultaneous applications across three screens, including TeleTracking, Cerner, and various communication and collaboration tools
• Maintain clear and professional communication with emergency department staff, unit leadership, and other stakeholders requiring bed coordination
• This position involves zero direct or hands-on patient care

Required Qualifications

• Active RN license (no additional certifications required)
• Minimum of 1–2 years of recent acute care experience (recent acute care background strongly preferred; candidates whose last 2–3 assignments were exclusively in SNF settings will not be considered)
• Hands-on experience with TeleTracking bed management system and Cerner EMR
• Strong computer proficiency with the ability to manage multiple applications simultaneously
• Demonstrated ability to multitask in a fast-paced, high-volume environment
• Strong customer service and communication skills

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience with Zoom and Google Workspace applications (Docs, Chat, etc.)
• Familiarity with a broad range of inpatient unit types and departmental differences (e.g., Med/Surg, Telemetry, ICU, ED)
• Prior experience in a clinical command center or bed management role
