As an Aircraft Mechanic, you will perform advanced maintenance, troubleshooting, modification, repair, and inspection activities on complex aircraft systems and structures. What You'll Do

Aircraft Maintenance & Repair

• Troubleshoot, repair, replace, and maintain aircraft mechanical components and systems.

• Perform maintenance on flight controls, engines, hydraulics, pneumatics, fuel systems, and other mechanical assemblies.

• Conduct pre-flight, thru-flight, and post-flight inspections.

• Perform scheduled inspections including 100-hour, phase, periodic, progressive, and isochronal inspections.

• Service aircraft through routine maintenance activities such as lubrication, filter replacement, brake checks, and system servicing.

Structural & Modification Support

• Perform aircraft sheet metal repairs and structural modifications.

• Repair and maintain aircraft structures and structural components of significant complexity.

• Support structural and mechanical engineering teams with technical expertise and recommendations.

Electrical & Avionics Support

• Troubleshoot and repair aircraft wiring systems and electrical accessories.

• Assemble, modify, and install wire bundles, conductors, and electrical components.

• Utilize electrical troubleshooting techniques and apply basic electrical theory to maintenance tasks.

Technical Documentation & Compliance

• Read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, wiring diagrams, engineering drawings, maintenance manuals, and service bulletins.

• Maintain accurate aircraft logs, maintenance records, and documentation.

• Ensure all work is performed in compliance with applicable maintenance procedures and safety standards.

Leadership & Technical Guidance

• Provide technical direction and mentorship to junior mechanics and technicians.

• Support aircraft modification and maintenance efforts with expert-level troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.

Required Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent.

• Minimum of 10 years of relevant aircraft maintenance and avionics experience .

• Strong knowledge of aircraft mechanical troubleshooting, repair procedures, and component replacement.

• Experience interpreting technical drawings, schematics, wiring diagrams, specifications, and maintenance manuals.

• Proficiency using aircraft maintenance tools and testing equipment, including:

• Torque wrenches

• Dial indicators

• Micrometers

• Cable tensiometers

• Sheet metal brakes and shears

• Crimpers, strippers, wire cutters, and heat shrink equipment

• Ability to work in a maintenance environment during assigned shifts.

• Ability to wear respirators and other required safety equipment.

• Ability to work in elevated, confined, or physically demanding environments as needed.

• Ability to adapt to changing work locations and operational requirements.

Preferred Qualifications

• FAA Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) License.

• Previous E-6B or Boeing 707 aircraft experience.

• Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret DoD Clearance.

Per Diem Information

• Per diem is available for qualified candidates residing outside a 50-mile radius of the work location.

• Per diem rates are paid according to current GSA guidelines for Lake Charles, Louisiana.

• Expenses must be submitted through the customer's approved expense management system.
