Shop Foreman 

Position Summary 

The Shop Foreman is responsible for leading daily manufacturing operations to ensure the safe, efficient, and timely production of high-quality products that meet customer and regulatory requirements. This role provides hands-on leadership, workforce development, production oversight, and cross-functional coordination within a fast-paced aerospace manufacturing environment. The Shop Foreman drives operational excellence by promoting quality, continuous improvement, employee engagement, and accountability while ensuring production goals, delivery commitments, and safety standards are consistently achieved.

Key Responsibilities

Production Leadership & Workforce Management

• Lead and supervise daily production activities to ensure safety, quality, productivity, and on-time delivery objectives are achieved
• Manage employee attendance, timekeeping, labor reporting, performance, and compliance with company policies and procedures
• Prioritize, assign, and monitor work activities to optimize resource utilization and production efficiency
• Coordinate production schedules and priorities with Quality, Testing, Inventory, Engineering, and other support functions
• Conduct regular team meetings to communicate operational priorities, performance expectations, and company initiatives
• Foster a positive, inclusive, and accountable work environment that promotes employee engagement and teamwork
• Address employee concerns, resolve workplace conflicts, and support employee relations initiatives
• Participate in performance management activities including coaching, development planning, performance reviews, and corrective actions

Employee Development & Training

• Provide hands-on coaching, mentoring, and training to support employee development and skill enhancement
• Identify training needs and ensure team members have the knowledge, tools, equipment, and resources necessary to perform their responsibilities successfully
• Support cross-training initiatives to increase workforce flexibility and operational effectiveness
• Promote a culture of continuous learning, safety awareness, and quality ownership throughout the department

Operational Excellence & Continuous Improvement

• Monitor production performance and identify opportunities to improve efficiency, productivity, quality, and throughput
• Lead problem-solving activities and implement corrective actions to address operational challenges
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to streamline processes, reduce waste, and improve manufacturing performance
• Analyze production data and key performance indicators (KPIs) to support data-driven decision-making
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives utilizing Lean Manufacturing and operational excellence principles
• Ensure production schedules and customer delivery commitments are consistently met

Quality & Compliance

• Champion quality standards and support the organization's Quality Management System (QMS) requirements
• Partner with Quality teams to investigate non-conformances, implement corrective actions, and drive process improvements
• Ensure compliance with customer specifications, controlled documents, industry regulations, and company procedures
• Support the preparation and review of Certificates of Compliance and other quality-related documentation
• Communicate quality expectations and provide guidance to team members on quality requirements and best practices
• Evaluate customer-driven changes and coordinate production adjustments to ensure successful implementation

Cross-Functional Collaboration

• Maintain effective communication with leadership, peers, and cross-functional departments including Engineering, Purchasing, Sales, Quality, and Human Resources
• Partner with internal stakeholders to proactively address production constraints and support business objectives
• Provide operational feedback and recommendations to improve manufacturing processes, workforce effectiveness, and customer satisfaction
• Support strategic initiatives that contribute to operational growth, quality improvement, and organizational success

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree preferred
• 3–5 years of leadership experience in aerospace manufacturing, wiring harness assembly, and/or assembly supervision
• Strong knowledge of aerospace manufacturing processes, quality systems, and customer requirements 
• Comprehension of commercial and government wiring harness assembly requirements
• Experience leading teams in a fast-paced manufacturing environment 
• Working knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Continuous Improvement, and Operational Excellence principles 
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and manufacturing systems 
• Strong leadership, coaching, conflict resolution, and employee development skills 
• Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving abilities. 
• Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining a focus on quality, safety, and customer satisfaction
• Bilingual Spanish/English skills preferred
