Role Description This is a part-time, on-site Assistant Men’s Basketball Coach role located in Evergreen, AL. The Assistant Coach supports the Head Men’s Basketball Coach in planning and conducting practices, developing game strategies, and implementing training programs that enhance player performance and team cohesion. Daily responsibilities include assisting with skill development drills, film review, and scouting, as well as monitoring student-athletes’ academic progress in coordination with college support services. The role also involves supporting recruitment efforts, maintaining compliance with college, conference, and NJCAA regulations, and promoting a culture of sportsmanship, safety, and respect. The Assistant Coach is expected to model professional conduct, communicate effectively with players and staff, and contribute to the overall student-athlete experience.

Qualifications

• Strong basketball-specific expertise, including Basketball Coaching, Coaching, and Basketball skills.
• Effective Communication skills to collaborate with student-athletes, coaching staff, and campus stakeholders.
• Training skills to design and deliver safe, progressive conditioning and skill-development programs.
• Demonstrated ability to support academic success, personal development, and well-being of student-athletes.
• Knowledge of NJCAA or collegiate athletics rules and a commitment to ethical and compliant program operations.
• Ability to work on-site, including evenings and weekends, and to travel for games and recruiting as needed.
• Previous playing or coaching experience at the high school, club, or collegiate level preferred.
• Associate’s or bachelor’s degree in a related field (or equivalent combination of education and experience) preferred.
• Current CPR/First Aid certification or ability to obtain within a reasonable timeframe.
