Pay Range: $20.00 - $23.00 per hour Schedule: Part-Time, 20 Hours per Week (Monday-Thursday) Location: Westlake, Ohio Work Arrangement: 100% Onsite FLSA Status: Non-Exempt

Position Summary
Achievement Centers for Children is seeking a detail-oriented and service-focused Human Resources professional to support employee relations, compliance, workers' compensation, unemployment administration, and employee support activities.
The HR Generalist, Employee Relations & Compliance serves as a key resource for employees and managers by providing guidance on Human Resources policies, responding to employee concerns, supporting compliance efforts, and helping foster a positive workplace culture. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys problem-solving, building relationships, and supporting employees while ensuring organizational compliance.
Essential Responsibilities
Employee Relations
- Support employee relations matters through documentation, meeting coordination, follow-up, and case tracking.
- Assist with performance management processes and corrective action documentation.
- Support workplace investigations and maintain confidential employee relations records.
- Identify and escalate employee relations concerns and workplace trends as appropriate.
Compliance Administration
- Assist with Human Resources compliance audits and monitoring activities.
- Maintain employment records and compliance documentation.
- Support policy administration and workforce compliance reporting.
- Assist with audit preparation and regulatory recordkeeping requirements.
Workers' Compensation & Unemployment
- Coordinate workers' compensation claims administration and injury reporting.
- Monitor claim status, return-to-work activities, and required documentation.
- Manage unemployment claims, hearing documentation, deadlines, and hearing preparation.
- Maintain accurate records and reporting related to claims activity.
Employee Support & Service Delivery
- Serve as a primary point of contact for employee and manager questions regarding Human Resources policies, procedures, workplace concerns, and leave programs.
- Manage Human Resources inbox inquiries and ensure timely follow-up.
- Provide professional, responsive, and employee-focused support.
- Connect employees with appropriate resources and escalate issues when necessary.
Continuous Improvement
- Identify opportunities to improve Human Resources processes and service delivery.
- Develop and maintain standard operating procedures and job aids.
- Recommend process improvements that enhance compliance, efficiency, and employee experience.
- Support departmental initiatives and special projects.
Qualifications
Required
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum of two years of experience in Human Resources, employee relations, compliance, workers' compensation, unemployment administration, or related workforce support functions.
- Experience handling confidential employee information with a high degree of discretion.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities.
Preferred
- Associate's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Experience supporting employee relations matters, workplace investigations, or corrective action processes.
- Experience in nonprofit, healthcare, education, or human services environments.
- Experience with Paylocity or similar Human Resources Information Systems (HRIS).
- Familiarity with Ohio regulatory requirements including DODD, ODJFS, and ODE.

Working Conditions
- 100% onsite position based in Westlake, Ohio.
- Occasional travel between ACC locations in Northeast Ohio.
- Occasional participation in job fairs, employee events, and community outreach activities.
- May require occasional early morning or evening meetings.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to use a computer and standard office equipment.
- Ability to communicate effectively in person, by phone, and electronically.
- Ability to sit, stand, walk, bend, and lift materials as needed in an office environment.
- Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record if travel is required.
