Overview Technologist-Radiology Job Title: Technologist-Ultrasound PRN FLSA Status: Non-Exempt Job Summary Operates imaging equipment and performs routine diagnostic procedures as prescribed by physicians according to established standards and practices to aid in diagnosis and treatment of disease. Job Responsibilities Performs imaging procedures using appropriate technical and safety methods as requested by a licensed physician. Exercises judgment in selecting and computing settings for each patient. Develops an appropriate procedure/treatment plan. Implements procedure/treatment plan utilizing established protocols/guidelines. Completes documentation as required to comply with policies and procedures. Maintains equipment, procedure/treatment rooms, and work areas in a neat and safe condition to ensure the safety of patients and staff. Participates in departmental performance improvement activities to ensure patient care is consistent with established standards and collects quality data for monitoring improvement. Completes assigned goals. Performs other duties as assigned. Specifications Experience Experience obtained through completion of an Ultrasound program. Education Completion of a formal education program in sonography accredited by a mechanism acceptable to ARDMS, ARRT, or CCI. Minimum required: Associate’s degree in a related field. Special Skills Demonstrates thorough understanding of imaging principles/theory and utilizes the most appropriate technique and positioning for optimal procedures/treatments as demonstrated by results. Demonstrates ability to receive and follow written and oral instructions and to plan and organize work. Licensure Registered by ARDMS or ARRT (S), ARRT (VS), ARRT (BS), or CCI RVS. BLS certification required within 14 days of hire. New graduates must obtain required registry within 120 days as required. State license required as applicable.
