MAINTENANCE ENGINEER

Position Summary

Bodega Taqueria y Tequila is seeking a dependable, hands-on Multi-Location Facilities & Maintenance Engineer to support the ongoing maintenance, repair, cleanliness, and general upkeep of our South Florida locations.

This position will travel regularly between our South Beach, Coconut Grove, and Fort Lauderdale locations to respond to maintenance needs, complete preventative maintenance, perform minor repairs, address facility issues, and assist with cleaning and upkeep as needed.

The ideal candidate is reliable, organized, mechanically inclined, and comfortable working independently across multiple restaurant and nightlife locations. This individual should be able to identify problems, complete routine repairs, communicate issues requiring outside vendors, and help ensure each location remains safe, clean, functional, and properly maintained.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Travel between the South Beach, Coconut Grove, and Fort Lauderdale locations based on maintenance needs and assigned priorities.
• Perform routine repairs and general facility maintenance.
• Inspect locations and identify maintenance, safety, cleanliness, or repair concerns.
• Perform preventative maintenance to help reduce equipment and facility issues.
• Complete minor plumbing repairs, including faucets, sinks, toilets, drains, and other basic plumbing concerns when within the employee's capabilities.
• Complete minor electrical work such as replacing bulbs, fixtures, switches, or other basic components when appropriate and legally permitted.
• Perform basic carpentry, patching, painting, hardware replacement, and general repairs.
• Repair or replace doors, handles, locks, shelving, fixtures, and other facility components as needed.
• Assist with minor restaurant equipment troubleshooting and repairs when appropriate.
• Perform pressure washing, deep cleaning, debris removal, and other facility cleaning projects as needed.
• Maintain back-of-house, storage, exterior, and service areas in an orderly condition.
• Respond to urgent maintenance requests from General Managers and company leadership.
• Communicate the status of outstanding repairs and provide updates regarding completed work.
• Identify repairs that require a licensed contractor or specialized vendor and communicate those needs to management.
• Coordinate with management and approved vendors when outside repairs are necessary.
• Maintain basic maintenance tools, equipment, and supplies.
• Track materials or replacement parts needed to complete assigned work.
• Document completed repairs and outstanding maintenance concerns.
• Prioritize maintenance requests based on safety, operational impact, urgency, and management direction.
• Follow all company safety procedures and applicable workplace requirements.
• Assist with other maintenance, repair, cleaning, or facility-related projects as assigned.

Multi-Location Travel

This is a mobile maintenance position and requires regular travel between company locations, including:

• South Beach
• Coconut Grove
• Fort Lauderdale

The employee must be comfortable traveling between locations throughout the workweek and responding to changing operational priorities.
Qualifications

• Previous experience in facilities maintenance, restaurant maintenance, building maintenance, handyman work, or a related field preferred.
• General knowledge of basic plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting, cleaning, and facility repairs.
• Ability to troubleshoot maintenance issues and determine appropriate next steps.
• Ability to work independently with limited supervision.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills.
• Ability to prioritize multiple maintenance requests across different locations.
• Strong communication and follow-through.
• Dependable and responsive to operational needs.
• Comfortable working in restaurant, bar, kitchen, and nightlife environments.
• Ability to safely use common hand and power tools.
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation required due to regular travel between locations.
• Ability to perform the physical requirements of the position, with or without reasonable accommodation.

Physical Requirements

The position regularly involves physical activity associated with maintenance and facility work, including standing, walking, bending, reaching, climbing, carrying tools and supplies, and working in different areas of restaurant facilities.

The employee must be able to safely perform the essential functions of the position, with or without reasonable accommodation.
Schedule & Availability

This is a full-time position supporting multiple restaurant and nightlife locations. The schedule may vary depending on operational and maintenance needs.

Flexibility may be required to respond to urgent facility issues and complete certain repairs at times that minimize disruption to restaurant operations.
Compensation

$60,000 - $65,000 per year

We are looking for someone who takes ownership of the condition of our facilities and can serve as a reliable point person for day-to-day maintenance needs across our South Florida locations.

The right candidate will be proactive rather than waiting for issues to become larger problems, communicate clearly with management, keep track of outstanding repairs, and take pride in keeping each location safe, clean, organized, and operational.
