About the Organization Beaufort Memorial is a not‑for‑profit hospital founded in 1944. It operates 201 beds (169 acute, 14 rehabilitation, and 18 mental health) and serves as a regional referral center for the Lowcountry. The facility is fully accredited by The Joint Commission and employs nearly 230 board‑certified or board‑eligible providers. Position Patient Account Representative – BPP Patient Financial Services Location: Beaufort Memorial Hospital Schedule: Full‑time, days shift. Non‑exempt. Responsibilities The PAR is responsible for billing and collections for physician accounts. Duties include: submitting patient bills through the billing software, following up with insurance carriers to obtain prompt reimbursement, maintaining accurate records, and ensuring compliance with all applicable policies and procedures. Additionally the PAR must work independently, exhibit a high tolerance for interruptions, multitask efficiently, and remain professional with a positive and pleasant attitude. The candidate will be articulate and persuasive while demonstrating sensitivity to patients’ needs, emotional maturity, and the ability to function effectively in stressful situations. Strong attention to detail, a strong work ethic, and alignment with the organization’s culture and core values are required. Requirements Education: High school graduate or equivalent preferred. Experience: Two years of experience in medical office billing/collections or hospital billing/collections preferred. Must demonstrate ability to work independently, manage stress, multitask, communicate clearly, and maintain a detailed focus. Certifications / Licenses: None specified.
