Mechanical Engineer - Rotating Equipment

Job Summary Chemours is seeking a Rotating Mechanical Engineer to join our growing TSS team. This position will be available at the Corpus Christi Plant located in Ingleside, TX and report directly to the Manufacturing Technology Manager. The individual will serve as a Plant Support Engineer for one or more areas of the Chemours assets at this facility, providing overall mechanical engineering guidance and support for operations, maintenance, and technology teams. Responsibilities Provide mechanical expertise for troubleshooting, maintaining, and modifying operating equipment and facilities. Provide technical troubleshooting and training to operating and maintenance teams. Provide mechanical expertise for project work to ensure compliance with specifications, engineering standards, and quality assurance. Lead PSM criticality assessment process to ensure adequate rationale for the MIQA effort, including critical spare parts, SAP data, inspection plans, frequencies, and maintenance procedures. Analyze equipment trends, historical data, and uptime data to recommend improvements for lowest life‑cycle cost. Lead and participate in safety, reliability and quality investigations. Participate in maintenance and reliability networks and share best practices, successes, and failures. Perform failure mode and effect analyses to develop appropriate equipment maintenance plans, including equipment checks and predictive preventative maintenance performed by operations and mechanics. Provide support for both cost and capital projects, including scoping, justifying, and coordinating installation of new or modified facilities. Maintain personal level of technical expertise in key technologies via training, seminars, and professional organizations. Provide shift/weekend coverage for start‑ups, tests, maintenance, turnarounds, or other non‑routine needs. Travel & PPE Travel requirements: Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering from an ABET accredited university. Five years of related industrial or manufacturing work experience in rotating equipment (inter‑office or co‑op experience may be considered). Expertise in rotating equipment and alignment techniques, basic materials science, material selection, properties, lubrication fundamentals, tribology techniques, pump principles, performance curves, mechanical seals, and API plans. Demonstrated knowledge of mechanical engineering rotating equipment principles. Strong ability to diagnose and solve technical problems using data‑based decisions. Excellent oral and written communication skills with strong customer focus and ability to conceptualize customer needs based on input. Proven ability to communicate through all levels of an organization. Experience working with technical resources and/or field personnel in operations troubleshooting activities. High degree of initiative and flexibility to move projects forward safely and in a timely manner. Ability to prioritize and manage short‑duration deadlines, emergency situations, and multiple priorities. Preferred Qualifications Strong background in maintenance and reliability best practices, including work‑management processes, interpretation of oil analysis results, vibration analysis and data interpretation, and nondestructive testing fundamentals. Experience with rotating equipment such as air compressors or large industrial refrigeration equipment. Root‑cause failure analysis and failure mode and effect analysis, data analysis techniques and statistical interpretation skills, evidence‑preservation techniques, and engineering design standards and their application. Cost/Capital analysis and justification experience. Strong Process Safety Management (PSM) background. Experience with SAP.
