Software Engineering Manager, Remote Services

Salary: $153,300 - 260,600 per year Requirements:

• We lead, coach, and develop a full-stack engineering team, including hiring, onboarding, performance feedback, and career growth, while remaining an active technical contributor.
• We define technical direction across front-end applications, back-end services, APIs, and microservices, and stay hands-on through design reviews, code reviews, prototypes, and direct coding on complex areas.
• We partner with marketing, product management, IT infrastructure, security, and support to align execution with business priorities.
• We own roadmap planning, backlog refinement, and release coordination for the remote services portfolio.
• We manage team capacity, sprint commitments, and interdependencies to deliver milestones predictably.
• We establish and maintain engineering standards for automated testing, CI/CD, observability, and production readiness.
• We lead incident response and root-cause analysis for production issues across the full stack.
• We ensure compliance with applicable regulations and standards, and protect the integrity and security of remote access systems.
• We drive an AI-first engineering approach by using coding assistants and agentic workflows in our own work and by defining safe, secure, and effective team practices.
• We evaluate emerging AI engineering tools and remote access technologies, run team pilots, and decide where to invest based on measured outcomes.
• We manage stakeholder communication, including status updates, risk escalation, and budget or vendor discussions.
• We stay hands-on by writing and reviewing code, building prototypes, and pairing with engineers on complex problems.
• We model AI-first working practices, measure their impact on cycle time and quality, and coach engineers to adopt what proves effective.
