This is more than a job—it’s a stepping stone into the life sciences industry with room to grow.What We’re Looking For:Strong attention to detail and consistency in following proceduresInterest in research, animal care, or biomedical scienceAbility to work in a physical, fast-paced lab environmentOrganized, dependable, and eager to learnBachelor’s degree in a science-related field is a plus, but not requiredIf you're excited to start your career in research and want to be part of a mission that matters—apply today and grow with Inotiv.Key ResponsibilitiesStudy Conduct & Animal CareReview study protocols and documentation prior to initiationDose animals via various routes (e.g., ocular, oral, dermal, SC, IM, IV, IP)Collect biological samples (blood, urine, feces) and data such as body weights or feed consumptionPerform clinical observations, treatments, and post-operative monitoringProvide pre-operative support (e.g., anesthesia induction, catheter placement, surgical prep) and assist during surgical proceduresMonitor anesthetized animals and manage post-op care, including recovery and euthanasia as neededMaintain accurate and complete raw data records in electronic or paper formatsEnsure compliance with study protocols, SOPs, and regulatory standards (GLP, AAALAC, USDA, OLAW)Facility & Equipment MaintenanceClean and sanitize animal housing and work areasMaintain inventory and monitor supplies, reporting shortages or expired materialsUse laboratory tools and equipment safely and effectivelyTraining, Compliance & Team SupportParticipate in required training programs and maintain confidentiality of proprietary or sensitive informationInteract professionally with coworkers and external visitorsSupport additional initiatives and perform other duties as assigned by managementQualificationsEducation & ExperienceHigh school diploma or equivalent requiredAssociate’s or Bachelor’s degree in a scientific field preferredAnimal care experience strongly preferredCertification as an Animal Care Technician may be required for internal promotionSkills & AbilitiesAbility to follow written and verbal instructions in EnglishDetail-oriented, self-motivated, and able to complete tasks independentlyComfortable handling laboratory tools, animals, and sensitive equipmentFamiliar with laboratory calculations and preparationPositive, professional demeanor toward both people and animalsPerformance & Physical RequirementsAbility to lift up to 50 lbs and move equipment safelyCapable of physical activity throughout a full shift (e.g., standing, walking, bending, crouching, lifting, pushing/pulling)Manual dexterity and visual acuity required for data collection and technical proceduresMust wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) including gloves, masks, respirators, safety glasses, and protective clothingRegular, reliable onsite attendance is essentialWork EnvironmentExposure to laboratory chemicals, solvents, biohazards, and animal-related materials (e.g., dander, scratches, bites)Work may include interaction with hazardous substances; vaccinations or medical precautions may be requiredMust be comfortable working in loud, fast-paced environments, with occasional outdoor exposureEar protection and other PPE provided and required as applicable#LI-Onsite #LI-OF1This position could be offered at different levels for candidates who qualify with a combination of advanced levels of education and/or years of experience.
