Responsibilities General Purpose: The Area Supervisor is a member of Store Leadership responsible for a specific area of the Store and the general operations and supervision of the Store when functioning as the Manager on Duty. Open/close the Store, supervise Associates, maintain a friendly, easy-to-shop environment, ensure proper merchandise presentation, and maintain a clean work area. Execute and supervise Company operational processes as needed. Essential Functions Maintaining Safe & Secure Environments: Understands safety as the priority; maintain awareness on the sales floor; correct or report unsafe conditions; secure building including entry/exit control and EAS devices; cash office security; ensure clear egress; test fire alarm systems; respond to after-hours alarms when requested. Customer Service: Treat customers, associates, and leaders with respect; demonstrate courtesy, friendliness, and professionalism; recognize associates via company programs; represent and support the Company brand; maintain professional appearance and enforce dress code; keep areas clean and merchandised to standard; manage daily trash removal. General Merchandising: Ensure recovery, sizing, and markdowns per standards; receive merchandise when needed; process merchandise with urgency; handle non-merchandise inbound deliveries; maintain stockrooms; assist with merchandising on the sales floor; secure back-stock; monitor loss reduction; comply with monthly presentation guidelines; manage floor moves, signing, and re-wraps as needed. Front End Supervision and Operations: Implement Company Best Practices; maintain pace and presence at the Front End; train/coaching on cash registers and procedures; manage breaks; ensure equipment works; maintain Front End supplies and recovery; expedite checks; teach Scan and Bag; ensure salability of merchandise at Front End and displays. Administrative Duties as Assigned by Store Manager: Ensure cash pulls and bank deposits per policy; Front End control when needed; adhere to refund approvals, purchase approvals, tills, cash safety, and payroll-related duties; assist with payroll administration as needed; perform other duties as assigned. Fluency in English. Prior Customer Service and supervisory experience preferred. Familiarity with point-of-sale equipment and applications. Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations commonly used in retail environments. Ability to work evenings and weekends. Physical Requirements / ADA Ability to use all Store equipment, including PDTs, registers and PC as required. Ability to spend up to 100% of working time standing, walking, and moving around the Store. Ability to regularly bend at the waist, squat, kneel, climb, carry, reach, and stoop. Ability to occasionally push, pull and lift more than 25 lbs. Ability to use janitorial equipment, rolling racks, ladders and other assigned supplies. Certain assignments may require other qualifications and skills. Associates who work Stockroom shifts: ability to regularly push, pull and lift more than 20 lbs. The base pay range for this role is $16.50 - $17.00. The base pay range is dependent on factors including, but not limited to, experience, skills, qualifications, relevant education, certifications, seniority, and location. The range listed is just one component of the total compensation package for employees. Other rewards vary by position and location.
