About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Labor and Delivery Duration: 26 weeks Shift: Night 3x12-Hour Hours per Shift: 12.5 hours Experience: Minimum 2 years of experience required License: Must have a valid compact license Certifications: BLS, FHM, NRP, AWHONN Intermediate, ACLS (preferred) Must-Have: 2 years of experience required Epic experience required First-time travelers accepted Description: Locals are accepted at the same rate. Contracts of 13 or 26 weeks are available. Requests for up to 2 major holidays off are permitted. Travelers are required to work on 1 of 3 holidays: Thanksgiving, Christmas/Eve, and New Year’s Eve. The facility offers a beautiful campus known for its positive environment. The staff enjoys great camaraderie, including book clubs and group dinners. Candidates from facilities outside of the healthcare system are eligible for a travel contract if separated for at least 3 months. The facility honors active compact licenses. Patient diagnoses primarily include labor and preterm labor. There are 8 labor rooms and 4 triage rooms available. Responsibilities include circulating, OB-GYN, post-op, pre-op, scrubbing, and managing low-risk antepartum and low-risk labor and delivery. Special procedures include blood and blood products administration, cardioversion, defibrillation, and the use of various pumps and equipment. Travelers must attend all deliveries, including high-risk ones, and assist in GYN surgeries and couplet care. Staffing ratios are typically 1:1 to 1:3. Float requirements include potentially postpartum and other areas based on skill set. Travelers may be expected to float to nearby facilities if necessary. Refusal to float may result in termination of assignment and forfeiture of guaranteed hours. Communication devices required for the assignment will be provided at no cost. Travelers are responsible for submitting their cell phone bills for reimbursement. All references must cover 1 year of experience within the last 3 years. Candidates must respond to questions regarding previous experience with specific facilities during the application process. The facility does not accept backgrounds with certain flags. Return staff policy allows rehire after 3 months.
