Radiographer CT - University Imaging Center

Performs a variety of routine and specialized technical procedures. Performs examinations in accordance with the established CT protocols and procedures. Ensures a smooth operational and productive workflow; and other duties as assigned.

Essential functions include demonstrating clinical competence in all section protocols established by the radiologists, applying detailed knowledge of anatomy in order to produce images of high quality, assisting in mentoring of new technologists and other support staff, pleasantly greeting and introducing self to patients, verifying their identification and the correctness of the examination to be performed, explaining examination to the patient and family if present, ensuring any required consent forms are signed prior to the examination, preparing contrast media and administering to patient either intravenously or through other body cavities, positioning patient for the proper CT examination and instructing patient as to the proper physiological requirements for the procedure, and performing CT examinations as prescribed by a physician.

Education and/or experience includes graduation from an AMA approved school of Radiologic Technology, one year of related experience preferred, Health Care Provider CPR certification, licensure from the Maryland Department of Health and Mental as a Medical Radiation Technologist, registered or registry eligible by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists, and advanced certification in CT is preferred.
