Payroll & Benefits Manager

A growing global manufacturing and technology organization is seeking a Payroll & Benefits Manager to join its Human Resources team in the Raleigh/Knightdale NC area. This individual contributor role offers the opportunity to take full ownership of payroll and benefits administration across North America while partnering with business leaders and third-party providers to ensure operational excellence and compliance. Key Responsibilities Manage accurate and timely processing of weekly and bi-weekly payrolls across multiple states and locations. Serve as the primary liaison with payroll service providers, overseeing payroll controls, tax filings, compliance requirements, audits, and regulatory updates. Lead the administration and continuous improvement of U.S. and Canadian health and welfare benefits programs, including annual renewals and open enrollment activities. Manage relationships with benefits vendors and ensure the accuracy of HRIS data, file feeds, enrollments, and benefits invoicing. Support benefits integration and implementation efforts associated with acquisitions and business growth initiatives. Administer retirement programs, including 401(k), non-qualified deferred compensation, and pension plans, ensuring compliance, testing, audits, and timely funding. Partner with payroll providers, recordkeepers, and internal stakeholders to resolve employee questions and deliver a high level of customer service. Prepare monthly workforce metrics and headcount reporting while supporting compliance initiatives and regulatory filings, including ACA and Form 5500 reporting. Participate in special HR and payroll-related projects as needed.
