Job Title

This is a career ladder progression position; the incumbent will serve in a developmental capacity, wherein the work is less complex in nature and the supervisor or a senior level employee provides specific instruction and guidance. As the employee progresses, the assignments will become more difficult and complex with less supervision.

***There is one vacancy. Selectee will be expected to report in person to one of the following locations: San Francisco, CA; Denver, CO; Washington, DC; Atlanta, GA; Chicago, IL; New York, NY; Philadelphia, PA; or Dallas, TX. Pay to be set based on the locality pay area of the Duty Location. Final duty station will be determined upon selection.

Participates as a team member in planning and executing performance and/or financial audit engagements of DOL programs, operations, contractors, and grant recipients. Follows established audit programs, checklists, and templates to gather evidence, perform basic tests, and document results in accordance with OA standards.

Conducts and summarizes research on DOL programs, operations, and applicable legal and regulatory requirements.

Uses office automation tools, including word processing, spreadsheets, and basic databases, to compile data, perform simple calculations (for example, sums, averages, and pivot tables), prepare schedules, and draft workpapers and memoranda.

Performs straightforward compliance and substantive testing as directed, including tracing transactions to source documents, verifying calculations, reconciling schedules to supporting records, and conducting simple sample selections in accordance with instructions.

Prepares well-organized workpapers that clearly describe procedures performed, evidence obtained, and preliminary results. Assists in drafting assigned sections of audit plans, entrance and exit conference materials, and portions of audit reports.

Assists with follow-up activities by collecting and organizing evidence of corrective actions taken on prior recommendations and updating tracking tools as directed.
