About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: ICU Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 2 years of experience License: Active nursing license Certifications: ACLS, BLS, CPI, NIHSS, TNCC Must-Have: Required certifications and skills Description: ICU RN position with shift options for 36 or 48 hours per week. Block schedule accommodates available. Floating is required every third weekend and every six-week schedule period. Patient ratios are typically 1:2, with adjustments made based on patient acuity. This unit handles a diverse patient population. No experience with burns, pediatrics, transplants, or ECMO is required. Scrubs of any color or brand are acceptable. Key skills include managing ports, arterial lines, assisting with chest tube insertion/removal, and ventilator management. Additional responsibilities include blood product administration, monitoring central venous pressure, and interpreting dysrhythmias. Experience with emergency medications and ICP monitoring is essential. Candidates should be proficient in phlebotomy and IV management. Experience with continuous IV sedation and titration of cardiac and vasoactive drips is necessary. Working knowledge of specialized equipment such as Impella, IABP, and CRRT is preferred. Promoting infection prevention and implementing isolation precautions is crucial. Successful candidates will work collaboratively with an interdisciplinary team to provide high-quality patient care. This role requires adherence to protocols for managing acute and chronic conditions in critically ill patients. The unit supports various patient diagnoses and medical needs while ensuring safety and quality of care. Operating within a structured framework, nurses will respond to acute changes in patient status effectively. The role includes performing special procedures like thoracentesis, paracentesis, and central line management.
