Clinical Dietitian

Position Responsibilities Maintain appropriate licensure, credentials, and registrations, including licensure as Dietitian/Nutritionist (LDN) in Florida and registration as Dietitian (RD) by the Commission on Dietetic Registration. Maintain expertise in medical nutrition therapy in general clinical practice. Perform calorie counts as requested and keep daily accurate records of nutritional care activities, participate in patient tray assessments and meal rounds. Develop and implement medical nutrition care plans. Perform nutrition assessments and reassessments following departmental policies and procedures. Accurately calculate nutrient composition of enteral feedings and parenteral solutions. Monitor, evaluate, modify, and document medical nutrition therapy following established policies and procedures. Initiate and follow up on nutrient intake analysis as needed. Provide counseling and education to patients and significant others regarding medical nutrition therapy as needed. Develop and review educational materials for patients as needed. Precept dietetic interns during clinical rotations, leading clinical activities to meet educational objectives, serve as a resource for interns, monitor and evaluate their clinical performance, and report to the Clinical Nutrition Manager. Communicate special needs of patients to diet office personnel using electronic food service system, email, or discussion. Provide diet guidelines to dietary supervisors, diet clerks, and cooks. Volunteer to participate in community outreach programs when nutrition programs are requested. Qualifications Registered Dietitian by the Commission on Dietetic Registration of the Academy of Nutrition & Dietetics. Licensed as a Dietitian/Nutritionist in the state of Florida. For those seeking the registration examination for dietitians for the first time on or after January12024, a master’s degree from a USDE‑accredited institution or equivalent is required. Individuals who established eligibility for the registration examination on or before December312023 or already registered are not required to obtain a graduate degree. Master’s degree from an accredited institution by the Accreditation Council for Education in Nutrition and Dietetics (ACEND®), where applicable. 0 to 2 years of experience; supervised practice and clinical experience preferred.
