Position Details Position Title: Food Service Assistant Job Code: 410C Division: Business Services Salary Schedule: Food and Nutrition Services Department: Food and Nutrition Services Workdays: 176 Reports To: Manager, Food and Nutrition Services Pay Grade: NW14 FLSA: Non-Exempt Pay Frequency: Bi-Weekly Primary Function: Perform food service duties as assigned by the manager. Revision Dates: 3/26 Requirements Educational Level: None; high school diploma or equivalency preferred. Certification/License Required: None; an Orientation for Nutrition Employees (ONE) course is provided and required during the first few months. Experience: None required; training for all essential duties will be provided. Physical Activities: Bending and lifting items up to 50 lbs. Walking and standing on cement floor during an 4-7.5 hour shift with breaks. Climbing ladders. Hands in hot and cold water; working in extreme temperatures from hot to sub‑zero. Using cleaning chemicals in solution, aerosol, and/or powder form. Subject to a noisy work environment. Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities: Follow and implement written and verbal instructions in English. Basic math and computer skills. Excellent customer service and teamwork skills. Note: The Board of Education and the Superintendent may accept alternatives to some of the above requirements. Essential Duties Demonstrate prompt and regular attendance. Prepare, cook, and serve food in accordance with established food safety procedures. Follow daily production schedules, including preparing recipes as written. Follow food safety guidelines for personal hygiene and practice safe hand washing. Clean and sanitize all utensils and equipment used; mop floors and dispose of garbage. Utilize and store cleaning chemicals following established procedures. Participate in training, in‑service, and learning opportunities. Adhere to personnel requirements outlined in the CCSD Administrative Rules, CCSD Employee Handbook, and the FNS Employee Handbook. Communicate effectively and promote good public relations with students, teachers, parents, and administrators. Work cooperatively with peers/supervisors and assist others when needed.
