About the Role:

The Hot Cook plays a critical role in the culinary team by preparing and cooking a variety of hot food items to meet the quality and presentation standards of White Horse Village. This position requires the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen environment while maintaining high standards of food safety and hygiene. The Hot Cook is responsible for ensuring that all dishes are prepared according to recipes and customer specifications, contributing to an exceptional dining experience. Collaboration with other kitchen staff and effective time management are essential to ensure timely service during peak hours. Ultimately, the Hot Cook helps uphold the reputation of the kitchen by delivering consistently delicious and visually appealing hot meals.

Minimum Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Previous experience working as a cook in a commercial kitchen, preferably in a hot food preparation role.
• Basic knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards.
• Ability to work standing for extended periods and handle kitchen equipment safely.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work as part of a team.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Culinary school certification or formal culinary training.
• Experience with various cooking techniques such as grilling, sautéing, and frying.
• Familiarity with menu planning and portion control.
• Certification in food handling or ServSafe.
• Ability to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare and cook hot menu items such as entrees, sides, and sauces according to standardized recipes and quality standards.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the cooking station and kitchen area to comply with health and safety regulations.
• Monitor food stock levels and communicate with kitchen management to ensure timely replenishment of ingredients.
• Coordinate with other kitchen staff to ensure smooth workflow and timely delivery of orders during service periods.
• Adhere to all food safety guidelines, including proper handling, storage, and temperature control of ingredients and prepared foods.

The Hot Cook utilizes culinary skills daily to prepare and cook a wide range of hot dishes, ensuring consistency and quality. Attention to detail is essential when following recipes and plating food to meet presentation standards.
