Lathe CNC Operator- 2nd Shift- $1000 Sign-On Bonus

Job Summary The CNC Machinist operates CNC lathes to produce machined parts, maintaining quality and safety standards, keeping records, and maintaining equipment and supplies. Essential Functions Understand work orders, blueprints, manufacturing orders, and machining parameters. Validate material used and maintain specifications. Identify and troubleshoot malfunctions, take corrective actions, and know when to replace worn tools. Listen to machining operations to detect sounds such as dull cutting tools or excessive vibration and compensate for problems. Measure dimensions of finished work pieces to ensure conformance to specifications using precision measuring instruments, templates, fixtures, and knowledge of GDT standards. Maintain continuity among shifts by documenting and communicating actions taken and any necessary further steps. Perform any other tasks assigned by supervisor or management. Non‑Essential Functions Maintain conscientious work behaviors including work ethic, safety standards, quality, costs, and on‑time delivery (OTD). Minimum Qualifications 1+ year of experience running CNC lathes; preferably single and double spindle. Knowledge of inspection equipment (micrometers, calipers, height gauges), safety procedures, regulations, geometric dimensional tolerancing, cutting tool geometry, and tooling coordination. Ability to work quickly and efficiently through a process improvement structure. Good verbal and written communication skills. Strong attention to detail and accurate record‑keeping. High school diploma or equivalent. Eligibility to access Controlled Data or Information; only U.S. Persons considered for positions requiring such access. Preferred Qualifications Experience with CNC mills. Understanding of CNC G‑code. Proficiency in basic math, geometry, and trigonometry. Excellent teamwork skills. Working Conditions Normal manufacturing environment; may require PPE such as eye safety glasses, hearing protectors, masks, and heel/wrist straps. Exposure to loud noises, cold temperatures, confined spaces, dust, or fumes. Physical demands: standing 100%, lifting up to 30 pounds, pushing up to 50 pounds, use of microscope, computer, and blueprints.
