Job Description

Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) Certification and minimum 2+ years Surgical Tech / Operating Room Tech experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

Take on an integral role supporting surgical teams at a large, advanced healthcare facility featuring 492 beds and a Level II Trauma Center. Seeking skilled professionals experienced as Nursing – ORT and Surgical Techs (certified or non-certified) for a contract position dedicated to Friday, Saturday, and Sunday 12-hour night shifts, beginning at 6:30 pm. This opportunity is ideal for individuals who excel in fast-paced operative environments and are confident handling a wide range of procedures.

Schedule & Hours:

• 12-hour night shifts, Friday–Sunday (6:30 pm–7:00 am)
• On-call: One weekday per week (3 pm–7 am), one weekend per month (Friday 3 pm–Monday 7 am)
• Contract position, weekend rotation required
• Holiday coverage expected per contract

Candidate Qualifications:

• Minimum 2 years relevant surgical tech or ORT experience
• Not accepting applicants with only 1 year experience
• Trauma and neuro operative experience strongly required; ortho, general, and vascular also needed
• Robotics (Mazor/DaVinci XI) expertise highly preferred
• Competence in multiple specialties: ENT, Gyn, urology, plastics, breasts, eyes, vascular, endovascular, and robotics for General and Neuro
• Certification preferred but not required
• First-time travelers welcome with a minimum of 2 years’ experience

Key Responsibilities:

• Scrubbing and supporting trauma, neuro, general, ortho spine, vascular, ENT, Gyn, urology, and plastics procedures
• Utilizing advanced surgical technology (Cerner EMR, Omnicell, Plum 360, Spacelabs)
• Collaborating with OR team members, including charge nurses and team leaders
• Attending a comprehensive 2-week orientation (day shift) and taking buddy call during this period
• Maintaining compliance with patient safety standards and protocols
• Participating in on-call and required holiday shifts
