Contract | Nights | 36 Hours per Week | 12-Hour Shifts (18:45–07:15) | Onsite

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care to NICU patients, including premature infants as early as 22 weeks gestation and all types of surgical infants.
• Manage and monitor patients requiring special procedures such as Therapeutic Hypothermia, Nitric Oxide therapy, UAC/UVC, Broviac lines, Trachs, GTT, and Ostomies.
• Operate specialized unit equipment including Servo Vents, HFOV, BCPAP, Ram NC, Tecotherm, Baby Leo, Giraffe, and Alaris IV pumps.
• Maintain accurate documentation and charting using EPIC, Pyxis, SBAR, and 4P systems.
• Adhere to a patient ratio of 1:2–4 and fulfill weekend requirements including 3 Fridays, 3 Saturdays, and 3 Sundays per 6-week period.
• Float as needed to Peds, PICU, or Nursery settings caring for infants up to and including 12 months of age.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years of experience in a Level 3 or Level 4 Intensive Care Nursery (ICN/NICU).
• Active RN license in North Carolina or a valid Compact state license.
• Current BLS certification.
• Current NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certification.
• Demonstrated experience with ventilator management in a neonatal setting.

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Familiarity with Med Fusion feeding pumps and neonatal-specific IV pump systems.
• Prior experience with self-scheduling in a high-acuity neonatal environment.
• Comfort managing complex diagnoses including Hypoxic Injury and high-acuity surgical neonates.
