Supplier Quality Engineer, Tape Storage
Overview The Supplier Quality Engineer for Tape Storage at Google will focus on ensuring the quality and reliability of tape drives, media, and libraries. The role involves collaboration with supplier design and factory teams to meet Google's standards, tracking failure trends, and driving continuous improvement through structured methodologies. Responsibilities Ensure the quality and reliability of tape drives, media, and libraries. Collaborate with supplier design and factory teams to meet company standards. Track failure trends and drive continuous improvement. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent practical experience. Minimum of 8 years of experience in tape drive, tape media, or tape library quality, reliability, or manufacturing. Ability to travel up to 25% of the time as needed. Master's degree or PhD in Electrical, Mechanical, Industrial, Materials, or a related engineering field is preferred. Technical expertise in tape heads, magnetic recording, tape‑to‑head interface, LTO/Enterprise tape standards, and robotic automation mechanisms. #J-18808-Ljbffr Google
