Role Description This full-time, on-site Family Law Attorney role is based in Angleton, Pearland, or League City, TX. The attorney will manage a caseload involving divorce, child custody and support, modifications, enforcement actions, protective orders, and other family law matters. Day-to-day responsibilities include client consultations, case strategy development, legal research, drafting pleadings and motions, negotiating settlements, and representing clients in court hearings and trials. The role involves close collaboration with colleagues and support staff, consistent communication with clients about case progress, and diligent preparation of each matter as if it may proceed to litigation. Qualifications Solid foundation in family law, including divorce, child custody, child support, property division, and related Texas statutes and procedures. Strong legal research and writing abilities, including drafting motions, pleadings, discovery requests, and settlement agreements. Effective courtroom advocacy skills, including oral argument, examination of witnesses, and trial preparation. Client-focused communication skills, with the ability to provide clear, practical advice and manage sensitive, emotionally charged situations. Experience negotiating settlements and working to resolve disputes efficiently while protecting client interests. Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school and active license to practice law in Texas, in good standing. Prior experience in family law or related litigation strongly preferred; experience in other practice areas (e.g., criminal, probate) is a plus. Demonstrated ability to manage a busy caseload, prioritize tasks, and meet court and filing deadlines.
