Career Opportunity: Local Dog Grooming Spa Seeking Experienced Full-time (and Part-time) Pet Groomer | Stylist. Built in clientele. Applicants with less than 1 year professional experience will not be considered.
We are a full-service dog spa in Oxford, MS, offering a cage-free environment with a focus on the emotional well-being of the dogs we care for. We take a therapeutic, holistic, and mindful approach to dog grooming. More than just grooming, we focus on creating a calming and enjoyable experience for each dog, from the moment they enter our front pooch patio and garden space, a peaceful sanctuary located in the downtown business district. With private grooming rooms, dog-specific music, aromatherapy, pheromones, dim lighting, and relaxing Zen rooms, we create an environment that promotes trust and relaxation. We also offer amenities like bubble baths, hot oil treatments, and coat-specific products.

Qualifications:

• Graduation from an accredited Pet Grooming School is preferred.
• A minimum of 1 year of professional pet grooming experience is required.
• Experience in executing common dog breed haircuts.
• Ability to complete 7 haircuts per day .
• Own grooming equipment (clippers, blades, shears, combs, etc.); major equipment like dryers is provided.
• Self-motivated and able to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
• Strong attention to cleanliness and organization.
• Exceptional oral and written communication skills .
• Ability to work energetically and maintain a positive attitude.
• Able to make independent decisions and solve complex problems.
• Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds without assistance, and engage in physical exertion such as standing, walking, bending, and lifting.
• Exceptional client service experience.
• Must be comfortable using web-based programs and iOS applications , with the ability to learn new software.

Responsibilities:

• Bathing, drying, brushing, nail trimming, ear cleaning, and teeth brushing.
• Executing professional breed-standard trims.
• Maintaining cleanliness and order throughout the day.
• Identifying potential health issues in pets, such as ear infections, skin conditions, or tooth decay, and communicating observations to pet owners.
• Ensuring safe best practices for both pets and groomers.

Requirements:

• Must be self-motivated, possess leadership skills, and have the ability to adapt in a fast-paced, cooperative work environment.
• A minimum of 1 year of professional grooming experience in a salon setting is required.
• Valid Driver’s License .
• References.
• Examples of grooming accomplishments.

Schedule:

• Tuesday to Saturday (Closed one Saturday per Month).

Compensation:

• Commensurate with level of experience, demonstrated proficiency, grooming productivity, and level of continuing education and professional development attained.
