Finance Project Supervisor

Job Summary:

DPBS is seeking a Project Supervisor to lead and manage two team members responsible for the financial administration and reporting of Department gift, internal, state, outside compensation, and Education funds. The Project Supervisor will oversee the execution of complex, large-scale projects across multiple disciplines within the DPBS Finance team, and manage the planning, execution, and monitoring of comprehensive project plans, timelines, budgets, deliverables, and resource allocations. In addition, the Project Supervisor will develop and deliver trainings and workshops designed to strengthen and advance the skills of team members across the department. Receives assignments in the form of objectives with goals and the process by which to meet goals. Responsible for supervising the day-to-day unit activities. Normally directs a section or group of analysts. Oversees and participates in complex projects and initiatives. Collaborates directly with internal and external stakeholders. Provides direction according to established policies and management guidance

Responsibilities

25% Essential Performs basic design, development, modification and debugging of software. Evaluates basic software for functional areas. Analyzes existing software or works to formulate logic for basic systems, prepares basic specifications and performs coding.

Qualifications

DPBS is seeking a detailed project analyst to lead and manage the execution of complex, large-scale projects across multiple disciples for the DPBS Finance team. This individual will lead and oversee the planning, execution and monitoring of comprehensive plans, timelines, budgets, deliverables and resource allocations. The analyst will provide in-depth analysis, detailed reports, and presentations and visualizations. Collaborates with leadership, stakeholders, and cross-function teams to ensure the timeliness, accuracy and excellence in project objectives. Independently uses and applies in-depth knowledge and experience in the specific policy field on projects that typically impact the entire organization or programs external to the organization. Operates in a highly visible, politically sensitive, legally complex and evolving arena. Uses advanced professional concepts and objectives to address and resolve complex policy or program issues. Works on significant, strategic issues and problems requiring political sensitivity, where analysis of circumstances and information requires an in-depth evaluation of factors.

Requirements:

• Thorough knowledge of organization or initiative processes, protocols and procedures.
• Solid knowledge of / common organizational- or research-specific computer application programs.
• Strong analytical / problem-solving skills.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to communicate and influence others, both verbally and in writing.
• Advanced project management skills.
• Ability to multi-task with demanding timeframes.
• Ability to use discretion and maintain all confidentiality.
• Solid knowledge of applicable policy analysis techniques.

Education, Licenses and Certifications:

• Bachelor's degree in related area and minimum five years of experience including at least three in a supervisory/leadership role / or equivalent experience / training.

Your placement within the salary range is dependent on a number of factors including your work experience and internal equity within this position classification at UCSF.
