Shift SupervisorThe Shift Supervisor oversees participation and payroll for each shift. The Shift Supervisor ensures participants' duties are clearly stated and that participants are motivated to carry them out effectively. The Shift Supervisor must maintain a safe working environment for all participants, addressing concerns and hazards immediately. The Shift Supervisor meets bi-weekly with the Outreach Manager to discuss upcoming shifts, locations, goals and feedback.*Note: As a part of the Work Local Team, your role will fall under the umbrella of the Outreach Team as a whole. While WL Shift Supervisor will be your primary role, you may be called upon at times to provide support to the Street Outreach or Workforce Development teams. The Hub is a cohesive, collaborative team all working together to assist individuals on their journey to exit homelessness.The Hospitality Hub partners with the City of Memphis and other donors to address blight with clean up efforts across the city. Work Local provides opportunity for work and compensation to those experiencing homelessness in an effort to meet both immediate needs and foster development through case management towards long term goals and stability. Comprising 2 crews, Litter and Alley, the teams perform duties to clean blight and clear overgrown areas through landscaping and maintenance. As team members interact with participants, the overarching goal is to build rapport while providing ongoing case management, support and access to resources. Through continuous engagement, the team works collaboratively with individuals to promote stability and assist them on their journey towards exiting homelessness.The Hub is a human first social agency meaning our goal is to decrease suffering for the person in front of us while simultaneously building systemic solutions. While the primary responsibilities of the position are outlined below, we expect all staff to be flexible and available to respond to emergencies and fulfill programmatic responsibilities which may require working holidays, weekends, evenings, or nights. Many Hub clients and guests are healing from trauma related to their marginalization. It is critically important that all members of the Hub team maintain a hospitable and welcoming environment by remaining calm and kind when clients are feeling frustrated.Primary Location: The current position is located at 590 Washington Ave, Memphis TN 38105Hours: Typical hours for this position are Monday - Friday, four days 7:00 am - 3:00 pmPay: The salary for this position is dependent on the candidate's demonstrated experience, expertise, and skill. The salary range starts at $17. Regular training is provided to all employees.Reports to: Outreach ManagerWhile the primary responsibilities of the position are outlined below, this list is not exhaustive.Communicate with Outreach Manager to understand targeted locations to clean upEnsure that daily goals are metManage debit card payment processing following each shiftEnsure that each participant has completed a Work Local Participant Form, liability, and photo form prior to each shift.Understand and ensure all participants follow all Hub safety protocolsFill out Work Local shift report after each shiftEnter daily progress and case management notes into CRMResolve conflicts during shifts using de-escalation and mediation skillsPrepare and sanitize tools and equipment prior to each shiftMaintain and sanitize equipment and tools after each shiftTransfer tools and equipment to and from the worksiteMake equipment, tools and supplies requests to the Outreach ManagerIn case of a participant complaint, fill out a form and report to the Outreach Manager in the daily report and with a follow-up conversationIn case of an accident, fill out an incident form and report to the Outreach Manager in the daily report and with a follow-up conversationRefer ALL partner, funder and media requests or questions to the Director of OperationsKeep participants safe, engaged, and on taskSpeak positively about the program at all times to participants, funders, partners, and the general publicTake photographs as able while on shift and share with your daily reportIf you see a blighted area not listed on your 311 ticketed area, do not clean it up but instead report it through 311Assist with the culmination of verifiable employer partnersAssist with the facilitation and oversight of Workforce Development programmingReport any issues with equipment or vehicles to the Outreach ManagerAssist in leading shifts to prepare for and clean up of the Warming/Cooling CenterSupport the training and onboarding of new hires and interns, reflecting our commitment to being a learning organization.Must be available to work additional shifts as needed to support Warming and Cooling Center Operations during extreme weather events.RequirementsOrganizedCurrent Driver's LicenseSafe Driving RecordPunctualPrevious experience as a Crew or Shift Supervisor or similar rolePassion for creating a positive, safe, and encouraging work environment for colleagues and participantsThe ability to meet the physical demands of the job, such as standing up for long hours and lifting heavy loads occasionallyWork well within a teamLeadership and conflict-management skillsThe ability to work consecutive hours outside or in a vehicleThe ability to move safely over uneven terrain walking on uneven surfacesThe ability to lift up to 50lbs.Training provided by The Hospitality HubCPR/First Aid/AED CertificateDe-escalationand mediation trainingReporting and data collection through the Hub's CRM system and HMISOrientation on all Hub programs, services, and referral partnershipsHiring Process:The Hospitality Hub staff works with vulnerable populations.
