Description: Neuro ICU Nights2 years experience preferred1st time travel okFloat required to other ICU'sEvery other weekend requiredBLS, ACLS, NIH required in hand at time of submissionCertified Stroke Center and Neuro ICU. Patient ratios are 2:1. Must be ACLS and NIHSS certified. Will consider block schedulingEVD management, Vent Management, Stroke Management.

The Registered Nurse-Intensive Care Unit is responsible for delivery of patient care through the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation. The successful candidate will be able to:

• Coordinate all nursing care for patients based on established clinical nursing practice standards
• Collaborating with other professional disciplines to ensure effective and efficient patient care delivery and the achievement of desired patient outcomes
• Contributing to the provision of quality nursing care through performance improvement techniques that demonstrate positive outcomes in patient care
• Collecting patient’s health data
• Analyzing assessment data in determining patient problems
• Identifying expected outcomes individualized to the patient
• Developing a comprehensive plan of care that prescribes interventions to attain expected outcomes
• Implementing interventions identified in the plan of care
• Evaluating patient’s progress toward attainment of outcomes
• Assisting with the plan of care, evaluate, modify and coordinate care, and communicate well with other disciplines
• Delegating task to unlicensed personnel in compliance with the Board of Nursing
• Conducting discharge planning, assisting the patient/significant others to obtain knowledge about illness, injury prevention, and teaching
• Maintaining confidentiality with all information
• Performing any and all other duties as assigned

Skills: Accessing/Managing Ports*, Arterial line management, Assist with Chest Tube Insertion/Removal, BiPAP/CPAP management, Blood Product Administration, Care of Ventilated Patient, Central line care/management, Continuous IV paralytics/Neuromuscular blockade, Continuous IV sedation, CVA/Acute Stroke management, CVVHD/CRRT*, Emergency Medications, External ventricular drain (EVD), High Flow Nasal Cannula (HFNC), Hypothermia protocol/Arctic Sun, ICP monitoring, Infection Prevention, Interpretation of Arterial Blood Gases (ABGs), Interpretation of dysrhythmias, Isolation Precautions/PPE, IV insulin protocols, Lumbar drains, Management of dysrhythmias, Management of patient with multisystem organ dysfunction/failure, Neuro Intensive Care Unit, Obtain 12 lead EKG/ECG*, Phlebotomy, PICC line management, Post Craniotomy, Post Neurosurgery management, Procedural Sedation Administration/Monitoring, Sheath Removal, Spinal cord injury, Starting and maintaining IVs, Suctioning (ETT, NT), Titrate Cardiac drips, Titrate Vasoactive drips, Traumatic Brain injury, Ventilator Management

Patient Diagnoses: Primarily caring for patients with strokes or neurological disorder in an ICU setting
