About the Role:

The HVAC Technician plays a critical role in ensuring the comfort, safety, and efficiency of heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems across residential, commercial, and industrial settings. This position involves diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining HVAC equipment to optimize performance and extend system longevity. The technician will work closely with clients to assess their needs, provide expert recommendations, and deliver high-quality service that meets industry standards and regulatory requirements. Attention to detail and adherence to safety protocols are paramount to prevent hazards and ensure reliable operation. Ultimately, the HVAC Technician contributes to energy efficiency and environmental sustainability by implementing effective system solutions and upgrades.

Minimum Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Completion of an accredited HVAC training program or apprenticeship.
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
• Proven experience in HVAC installation, maintenance, and repair.
• Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, blueprints, and wiring diagrams.

Preferred Qualifications:

• EPA Section 608 Certification for handling refrigerants.
• Additional certifications such as NATE (North American Technician Excellence) or HVAC Excellence.
• Experience with computerized diagnostic tools and building automation systems.
• Strong customer service and communication skills.
• Ability to work flexible hours including weekends or emergency call-outs.

Responsibilities:

• Install, inspect, and maintain HVAC systems including furnaces, air conditioners, heat pumps, and ventilation units.
• Diagnose mechanical and electrical faults using specialized tools and equipment, and perform necessary repairs or replacements.
• Conduct routine preventive maintenance to ensure optimal system performance and compliance with safety standards.
• Collaborate with customers to explain system issues, recommend solutions, and provide cost estimates for repairs or installations.
• Maintain accurate service records, order parts, and manage inventory to support efficient workflow.
• Adhere to all safety regulations and company policies while working on-site or in the workshop.
• Stay updated on the latest HVAC technologies, codes, and best practices through ongoing training and certification.
