Job Summary
Medical Surgical Floor Nurse - Cedar Rapids, Iowa. This position involves providing care on a dedicated medical-surgical unit with a focus on neurology, oncology, and general medical patients. The role requires a committed nurse to staff nights on a 12-hour shift schedule, starting on 07/27/2026, with a minimum of 36 hours per week.

Job Details

• Schedule: Night shifts, 12 hours per shift, minimum of 36 hours per week
• Required Qualifications: Iowa RN license, 12 years of current hospital or medical center experience including med-surg, neurology, or oncology, EPIC electronic medical record experience, minimum of 18 months of experience administering heparin, Cardizem, and amiodarone, experience caring for neurology and oncology patients, NIH Stroke Scale certification preferred (can be obtained during onboarding)
• Preferred Qualifications: Prior experience in stroke care, oncology, neurology, or related specialty, NIH stroke scale certification, strong clinical skills specific to the discipline listed
• Float: Float between Medical Surgery and Stepdown units may be required
• Additional Information: The unit is a stroke unit with a bed capacity of 24, patient ratios are 1:5 during days/evenings and 1:6 at nights. Orientation sessions are scheduled for 07/27, 08/03, and 08/10. The dress code is navy or black tops and bottoms, solids.
• Submission Requirements: Phone call or text interview from a 405 area code, verification of licensure and certifications, professional references within 24 months, Driver's License required.
• Holidays and On-Call: Contractor is required to work 1-2 of 3 upcoming summer holidays (Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day). No on-call requirement.
