Admissions Counselor I

Mississippi State University is hiring an Admissions Counselor I. The role involves representing the university to prospective students and other stakeholders, focusing on recruiting freshman students. The counselor develops recruitment strategies, organizes campus visits, handles communications, and participates in various admission-related events. Highlights Develops and implements recruitment goals and strategies targeting freshman students. Organizes and manages daily campus visit programs for prospects and families. Prepares correspondence and responds to inquiries via email and telephone. Represents the university at conferences, meetings, and alumni events. Assists with orientation programs and admissions publications. Maintains contact with prospective students and coordinates specialized visits for counselors and students. Requires a bachelor's degree in Student Development, Counseling, Public Relations, Marketing, or related fields. Must hold a valid driver's license and be able to travel extensively. Strong interpersonal, communication, writing, and independent working skills are necessary.
