This opening is for a Entry Level Mechanical Design to Controls Design with possible Body Shop Tooling fixture background (Automotive body shops)

Currently client has a hybrid work model: Four days in the office, One Day Work from home. Based on Project Performance (subject to change).

We ask that you DO NOT submit Product Designers or Engineers.

The following Key Words / Phrases are samples of Product Designers and what to look for:

• Sheetmetal Design
• Plastic injection mold
• Manufacturing Engineer developing and validating, electrified propulsion and automatic transmission Components and systems.
• HVAC systems with Plenums, Actuator driven mechanics
• Design axle assemblies, suspension components
• Tank shields, Design of metal and plastic windshield wiper components
• Molded parts specialist, parts designed include moldings, fender vents, front grilles.
• Design (3D) and detail (2D) Emission control systems

Required Qualifications: Knowledge & Skills:

Description:

• Develop Skills to manage overall completion of important and complex engineering tasks and projects. As Skill grow, you may be required to Initiate, direct, supervise and control major and minor engineering projects within a specified area of responsibility. Includes administrative and technical guidance to a group of employees, for Light or heavy automotive body in white (BIW) engineering experience. This is a growth position.

• Cycle Time Chart (Machine Timing)
  Create CLS (Controls Layout Sheet)
  Operator Timing - STDS (GM Standard Time Data System)
  SPD (GM) Sequence Deliverable Program
  Operator ERGO Studies
  Walk Path (ON A DWF FILE)
  Xrwd (Excel Request wiring Diagram) / Sequence of Operation / TCD
  Create a part outline
  eM-Planner (nice to have)

Main areas of responsibilities to work towards:

• Prepare general specification.
• Support, coordinate and execute all quality initiatives.
• Meet all customer requirements, specifications and requests.
• Suggest and support all continuous improvement efforts.
• Customer-facing experience - Nice to have.
• Peripheral automotive BIW departments and their deliverables.

Nice to have Knowledge & Skills

• Light or heavy automotive body in white (BIW) engineering experience
• Strong organizational and planning skills
• Close attention to minor details
• Ability to follow structured processes and procedures.
• Strong written and face-to-face communication skills in large and small teams
