Requisition No: 877993 Agency: Department of Health Working Title: OPS RECORDS ANALYST – 64858453 Location: Pensacola, Escambia County Position ID: 64858453 Salary: $20.25 per hour Responsibilities The incumbent’s primary responsibility is to perform duties that assist the Department with the processing of Social Security disability claims. The incumbent must maintain a courteous demeanor when interacting with claimants, their representatives, the general public, and coworkers. Responsibilities include routine technical electronic records management activities related to Social Security disability claims, independent decision‑making regarding the maintenance of medical records and consultative examination processes, and handling 90% of work electronically through computers. The incumbent will answer calls routed to the Development Unit, return voicemail messages, and manage communications with claimants and claimants’ representatives. They will send correspondences by fax or mail, conduct investigative calls to gather work history and functional information, and have broad knowledge of the division’s organizational structure and disability case process at intake and examiner levels. The incumbent initiates, develops, and maintains electronic record management activities, determining when a Consultative Examination (CE) or Medical Evidence of Record (MER) is needed. All required information must be reviewed in the appropriate systems (SSA system(DCPS), PCOMM, and eView) for completeness and accuracy and documented on the Electronic Worksheet (EWS) when appropriate. Incumbents may be required to perform emergency duty before, during, and/or beyond normal work hours or days. Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Ability to communicate effectively. Ability to operate standard office equipment (phone, copier, scanner, fax, computer). Ability to collect and evaluate data relating to disability claims. Ability to understand and apply applicable rules, regulations, policies and procedures relating to disability benefits. Ability to evaluate data for completion. Ability to identify problems and take appropriate corrective action. Ability to compose correspondence. Ability to organize data into logical format. Ability to work independently. Ability to utilize problem‑solving techniques. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others. Preferred Qualifications High school diploma. Previous work experience with disability or insurance claims, medical office, social work, or government programs.
