Details Adult and pediatric Emergency Department at a teaching hospital 1:5 patient ratio covering all emergency-type diagnoses across adult and geriatric populations Day (7a-7p) and Night (7p-7a) shifts, 3x12-hour schedule Every other weekend requirement Every other holiday requirement, if needed Uses EPIC for charting Floating required within skillset Special equipment used includes Bair Hugger, rapid infuser, and safe patient handling equipment Facility may cancel up to three shifts during the 13-week contract without charge Requirements Active NY Single State RN license required in hand (NY is not a compact state) BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required; PALS and TNCC preferred Minimum 2 years of RN experience required EPIC charting experience required Skilled in IV therapy including blood product administration, central line care, phlebotomy, and starting/maintaining IVs Experience with IV vasopressors, CPAP/BiPAP, and ventilator management Experience managing CVA, neuro-trauma, spinal cord injury, and TBI patients Cardiac monitoring skills including interpretation and management of dysrhythmias and obtaining 12-lead EKGs Experience in emergency care for adult and pediatric patients, including gunshot wounds and ortho trauma Knowledge of isolation precautions/PPE and triage protocols Experience managing psychiatric patients including acute psychosis, drug overdose, violent behavior, and suicidal patients Additional Information Work in a state-of-the-art, 24/7 ED with a centralized layout, dedicated pediatric ED, discreet crisis intervention unit, and trauma suite near the ambulance entrance 528-bed acute care teaching hospital that is Magnet-recognized and certified as an Advanced Thrombectomy Capable Stroke Center Affiliated with Cleveland Clinic and Roswell Park, offering specialized services Scrub color requirement: any combination of navy blue and white Candidates within 75 miles of the facility are not accepted for RN positions, though local LPN candidates are accepted First-time travelers are welcome to apply Previous staff may be considered for rehire after a 6-month system-wide waiting period American Traveler Job ID P-764744.
