Position Overview
Budget Watchers is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Jobs & Day Training (JDT) Supervisor (Part-Time) to support individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities as they build vocational skills, increase independence, and work toward their individual employment and personal goals. The JDT Supervisor works directly with clients in both one-on-one and group settings, providing training, guidance, observation, and ongoing support. This position also collaborates with the Desert Regional Center (DRC), families, guardians, counselors, community partners, and members of each client's support team to help ensure services are individualized, goal-oriented, and effectively documented.

The ideal candidate is organized, dependable, professional, and passionate about helping individuals with disabilities develop the skills and confidence needed to achieve greater independence and employment success.

 

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Provide direct supervision, pre-vocational training, and day training support to clients with disabilities in individual and group settings.
• Build and maintain positive working relationships with DRC, community partners, families, guardians, counselors, and client support teams.
• Assist clients in working toward their individual vocational, employment, personal development, and day training goals.
• Promote client independence and participation in the most integrated environment appropriate to the individual's needs.
• Assist with the development and implementation of individualized vocational goals and strategies designed to meet each client's needs.
• Conduct client observations and assessments to assist in developing measurable goals and identifying areas for growth.
• Facilitate discussions, answer client questions, and provide individualized training and coaching as appropriate.
• Communicate regularly with the Program Manager regarding client progress, concerns, barriers, and potential solutions.
• Accurately gather, maintain, and submit required statistical data, documentation, and reports within established deadlines.
• Document client updates, activities, and progress in Daily Logs and other required records.
• Monitor client progress and communicate significant concerns or changes to appropriate members of the management and support teams.
• Attend staff, client, and team meetings as required.
• Complete a minimum of 10 hours of annual training related to Job Development, Job Coaching, or other relevant client-support services.
• Work flexible hours when required based on program and client schedules.
• Supervise clients and, when assigned, provide supervision and guidance to staff.
• Perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Program Manager and/or Director.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree preferred; equivalent professional experience and/or a minimum of five (5) years of relevant community-based experience may be considered.
• Experience working with individuals with intellectual, developmental, and/or physical disabilities is strongly preferred.
• Genuine interest in helping individuals with disabilities develop vocational skills, overcome employment barriers, and increase independence.
• Strong leadership, organizational, time-management, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to establish and maintain professional relationships with clients, families, guardians, community partners, and agency representatives.
• Ability to maintain a professional and respectful demeanor in a variety of situations.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel.
• Working knowledge of standard office equipment and basic administrative procedures.
• Must have reliable transportation and the ability to travel to various assignments and program locations as needed.
• Must obtain and maintain current CPR certification.
• Employment is contingent upon successful completion of required background and fingerprint checks.
