Compliance Officer

Are you a detail-oriented professional with a passion for governance, compliance, and continuous improvement? We are seeking a dynamic Compliance Officer to join this team and play a pivotal role in maintaining and enhancing our compliance, governance, and assurance framework. Hybrid working with regular travel across sites Full-time – 38 hours per week Salary - £29,000 - £35,000 (depending on experience) Contract:6 months Responsibilities Implement and maintain the organisation’s compliance framework. Manage compliance registers, trackers, and monitoring systems. Support managers in understanding and meeting compliance obligations. Escalate compliance concerns and risks to the Compliance Lead. Conduct internal compliance audits and prepare services for external inspections. Monitor and track completion of audit actions and improvement plans. Assist in the administration of governance processes and maintain records. Support policy reviews and coordinate actions from governance meetings. Prepare reports for Board and Committee presentations. Ensure compliance with UK GDPR and Data Protection legislation. Maintain safeguarding compliance records and support incident monitoring. Assist with investigations and ensure implementation of corrective actions. Produce compliance reports and dashboards. Analyse compliance data to identify trends and support organisational assurance. Qualifications Educated to A-Level standard or equivalent experience. Relevant qualification in governance, compliance, business administration, or a related field (or willingness to work towards one). Experience in a regulated environment, supporting audits, and maintaining compliance systems. Strong understanding of compliance, governance principles, and risk management processes. Excellent organisational, analytical, and communication skills. Experience in charity, health, social care, or housing sectors. Knowledge of Charity Commission requirements, CQC regulations, safeguarding legislation, and GDPR. Experience supporting Board or Committee governance.
