You will serve as a SECURITY SPECIALIST in the PROGRAMS AND RESOURCES DEPARTMENT of HQ US MARINE CORPS.

Duties

Help

• You will provide security guidance and support to United States Marine Corps activities and contractors.
• You will liaise with participating industrial and government activities relating to the full range of security matters.
• You will establish focal points within each activity to provide consistent application of security procedures in accordance with U.S. Government policy.

• MSP/PPP applicants must currently hold the required security clearance.
• Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or fail the test. You will be subject to random testing.
• You will be required to complete training, obtain, and maintain a government credit card for travel and travel-related purchases.
• This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
• This is a Security Professional Educational Development (SPeD) position and requires DoD certification. Selectee must obtain and maintain certification within prescribed timeframes. Certification required is: Security Fundamentals Professional

• Must sign a non-disclosure agreement and when required must submit to and pass a polygraph examination.
• Office environment may include brief periods of duty deployed in the field, to other military bases, on board navy ships or in foreign countries.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Maintaining security of special access programs and sensitive activities including specialized procedures and practices for the protection of communications, information systems, and operations; 2) inspecting facilities to ensure continued compliance of security policy standards and requirements; 3) conducting security analysis of a program(s) and recommending improvements and corrective measures to upgrade security administration, procedures and processes; and 4) preparing reports of investigation including recommendations for disciplinary actions.

Additional Information:

This position is subject to an initial drug screening, and random testing thereafter. A negative drug test result must be received by HR within 30 calendar days after the EOD (i.e., start date). The selectee's inability to successfully pass; or refusal to conduct the test may result in: 1) the tentative or final job offer being withdrawn during the recruitment process; or 2) subsequently being removed from Federal service for failure to meet a condition of employment. You may be required to sign a "Drug Test Statement of Understanding" if you are selected for this position.
