Registered Nurse (RN) | Long Term Care

$32.5 - $48.5 per hour

Location Avera Majestic Bluffs / Avera Sister James Care Center Worker Type Regular Shift Day Shift (United States of America) Pay Range Actual pay rate dependent upon experience: $32.50 - $48.50 Position Highlights Hours: 6:00am-6:30pm; every 3rd weekend/holiday; 72 hrs/2 weeks May be eligible for $30,000 sign‑on bonus with a 3‑year commitment. Student Loan Repayment: Each month an extra payment of $167 (up to $10,000) from Avera will help pay down your principal balance faster. Brief Overview Delivers nursing care by developing a nursing diagnosis; establishing nursing care objectives; defining nursing interventions; providing physical, emotional, psychological, and spiritual support to residents, families, and friends to understand residents conditions, medications, and self‑care skills; noting changing conditions and needs; re‑evaluating care objectives. What You Will Do Provide resident care by reviewing physician prescriptions; communicating the nursing care plan and all pertinent information to other members of the health care team; coordinating with other healthcare providers; providing physical, emotional, psychological, and spiritual support to residents, families, and friends; conferring with physicians. Develop nursing care plans by obtaining medical histories; examining residents; documenting residents physical condition, psychological status, and influencing social factors; conferring with family and friends; developing a nursing diagnosis; establishing nursing care objectives; defining nursing interventions, schedules, and timetables. Teach healthcare requirements by establishing resident care goals; instructing resident, family, and friends to understand condition, medications, and self‑care skills; answering questions; providing information and resources. Evaluate resident's care by adhering to therapeutic standards; measuring health outcomes against resident care standards; reviewing resident's records; noting changing conditions and needs; re‑evaluating care objectives; modifying nursing care plan. Maintain safe, secure, and healthy resident care environment by adhering to infection‑control policies and protocols, medication administration and storage procedures, and controlled substance regulations; adhering to organization standards and policies, and to legal regulations; alerting others regarding potential concerns. Keep resident care equipment operating by following operating instructions and established procedures; troubleshooting breakdowns; maintaining supplies; performing preventive maintenance; calling for repairs. Keep resident care supplies ready by checking stock; anticipating needs; placing and expediting orders; verifying receipt; stocking items. Coordinate admissions, discharges and transfers to and from the facility. Direct, plan and coordinate workflow of nursing assistants and other nursing personnel. Maintain competence in nursing capabilities outlined by leadership. Essential Qualifications The individual must be able to work the hours specified and perform each essential job function satisfactorily, including having visual acuity adequate to perform position duties and the ability to communicate effectively with others, hear, understand and distinguish speech and other sounds. Required Education, License/Certification, or Work Experience Registered Nurse (RN) – Board of Nursing An active license in the state of practice Preferred Education, License/Certification, or Work Experience 1‑3 years experience working in a clinical or long‑term care environment Expectations and Standards Commitment to the daily application of Avera’s mission, vision, core values, and social principles to serve patients, their families, and our community.
