MACHINIST - LEVEL II

POSITION SUMMARY

The Machinist will set-up and operate a CNC Lathe / Mill. The Machinist will implement all data entry systems and processes and will provide daily support for software programming applications.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Demonstrates a good working knowledge of machine tooling applications and servicing. Works closely with other machinists to provide technical assistance to tooling related issues. Demonstrate working knowledge of processes necessary to complete all assigned task within the production schedule. Demonstrates a good working knowledge of machine equipment functions and servicing. Able to perform preventive maintenance as assigned. Demonstrates working knowledge of the process flow of parts through the manufacturing process. Load and unload raw materials onto the CNC machine, selecting appropriate materials based on project requirements.

QUALIFICATIONS

3 - 5 years' experience as CNC Machinist 1 or equivalent, with demonstrated proficiency in operating multi-axis CNC machines CNC - Has a good understanding of machine control interfaces. Provides daily support for software programming applications. Displays a solid understanding of programming, editing and offset. Troubleshoots and resolves routing software issues. Fully understands and implements all data entry systems and processes. Capable of reading prints and drawings Able to run manual and CNC equipment. Performs all in-process inspections using precision measuring tools (calipers, micrometers and height gauges) Modify existing CNC programs to improve efficiency, adjust machining parameters and troubleshoot minor programming errors. Ability to independently set up CNC machines. Understand advanced CNC programming concepts like G and M codes, as well as machining techniques like turning, milling, drilling and threading.
