Paramedic Critical Care | 24hrs. shift

Position Summary Perform 24-hour shift duties under the direction of the Program Manager and Flight Surgeon/Medical Director. Respond to all assigned calls efficiently, providing high standards of patient care while ensuring a safe, hazard-free environment. Contribute to patient assessment, treatment, packaging, and transport, interacting with facility staff, patients, families, first-response agencies, and healthcare providers. Participate in outreach educational initiatives, including education to EMS and resource performance improvement for Trauma Service Area agencies. Qualifications Required Education: High School Diploma or GED. Must complete Advanced Trauma Life Support course, FEMA IS 100, FEMA IS 200, and Air Medical Crew Curriculum Certification in accordance with Florida Administrative Code within six months of hire or transfer. Preferred Education: Associate of Science Degree. Necessary Skills: Ability to learn and adapt to new equipment; work in highly stressful situations; provide leadership/incident command authority at emergency scenes in coordination with other agencies; customer relations and organization skills; adherence to Hospital Policy and Florida Department of Emergency Medical Services guidelines; familiarity with Advanced Life Support patient care equipment; education/instruction of EMS agencies throughout the Trauma Service Area; demonstrated knowledge of pathophysiology of cardiac, pulmonary, renal, and neurological systems. Florida Paramedic License; BLS, ACLS, PALS from the American Heart Association; FP-C or CCP-C within 6 months of hire or transfer; PHTLS within 6 months of hire or transfer. National Registry Paramedic; ACLS Instructor; PALS Instructor; PHTLS - Emergency Pediatric Care. Required Experience: 3-5 years field experience in an active Emergency Medical Service or hospital.
