Job Summary Collects blood specimens, according to physician orders, from emergency room patients and delivers the specimens to the laboratory for analysis. Posts laboratory results on the patient's chart, performs point of care testing, files laboratory results, inputs data into the database and follows up on delayed results. Performs selected tasks under the direction and supervision of a registered nurse or physician. Performs EKG's and monitors vital signs. Qualifications High School or equivalent Required 1-3 years Previous Phlebotomy, ED Technician or Nursing Assistant experience in an acute care setting Preferred Ability to read, write and communicate in English; ability to speak Spanish preferred. CPT - Certified Phlebotomy Technician - National Healthcareer Association Phlebotomy certification or equivalent from ASCP Required Must complete Non-violent Crisis Intervention training on a bi-annual basis.
