Client Accounting and Advisory Services (CAAS) Senior Associate

GHJ is looking for a Client Accounting and Advisory Services (CAAS) Senior Associate to review month‑end close deliverables for clients on a weekly, monthly and quarterly basis. The role is part of GHJ’s larger Advisory practice. Responsibilities Review client financials, including bank and credit card reconciliations, invoicing, billing, treasury management, accounts payable, payroll processing, and expense reporting. Integrate data from secondary software (e.g., POS systems, payroll systems) into clients’ GL software. Perform month‑end closing activities. Prepare journal entries and gather respective support for review. Manage competing deliverables and communicate accordingly with clients and internal team. Reconcile account balances to supporting schedules. Conduct investigation on variances. Prepare work papers and draft financial statements. Research and solve complex accounting issues. Identify and anticipate roadblocks and work to provide solutions. Write management reports. Assist Managers and Partners with various advisory projects as needed, including budgeting, forecasting, financial modelling, and data analysis. Supervise and assist in training CAAS Associates. Interfere with clients in a professional manner. Qualifications Strong analytical ability and attention to detail. Advanced proficiency in Excel and Word. Superior verbal and written communication skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Creative problem solver with a passion for helping clients. Plan and present well‑organized work product. Skills & Experience Undergraduate degree in accounting, finance or a similar related field with a desire to build practical experience in an advisory arena. 3–4 years of experience in private or public accounting. QuickBooks Online experience preferred. Sage experience preferred. NetSuite experience preferred. Cost accounting experience preferred. Understanding of accrual‑basis accounting and GAAP. Experience with drafting financial statements (balance sheet, income statement, statement of cash flows) in accordance with US GAAP.
