Do you have a separate Triage area & do you allow/require travelers to do Triage? 1 triage room, traveler would be expected to do triage
Do you have a separate holding area in the ER or are ER holds intermixed w/in the ER?
Do ER RN's manage their own ER holds? We do not have a separate area, and yes, ER nurses manage their own holds
Do you have separate Psych/seclusion rooms? No
In-house Security: Yes
# patients per day: 20-40
Ratios: State ratios are no more than 1:4
Required Certifications: TNCC, ACLS, PALS, BLS
Common diagnoses/Types of patients: Widely varied, all ages
Experience or 'Must have' skills: 2 years ER experience within the last 3 years
ED Physicians/Mid-Levels: 1 MD on at all times
Charge Nurse/House Supervisor: No charge nurse, 1 House Supervisor at all times
Nurse Aids/Paramedics/Patient sitters: Unit techs 1200-2030 when available
EMR Cerner
RT Equipment (Vents, Cpap, BiPap, High Flow, etc.) Does RT do ABG's, breathing tx, EGS's? Yes, vents, CPAP, BiPAP, High-flow NC, Airvo. RT does ABG's, breathing treatments, EKG's
Is there tele on this unit? Monitor Techs? RNs read strips? No monitor techs, RN's read strips
X-Ray or CT in the ER? Transport? No transport team, CT and X-ray immediately adjacent
Phlebotomy or nurse draw: Phlebotomy, RN will draw if starting IV's
Shifts & Scheduling: 1900-0730 NOC, 0700-1930 days
Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
Holiday Requirement: Yes
Is there a call or standby requirement? Possibly (3) cut/call shifts per 13 week contract
Floating Requirements: Desirable to ICU but not required
Scrub Color/Dress Code: Navy blue
