We are looking for System Quality Engineer (SQE) – Hardware-Only Projects to join our growing team in United States Location: US (Remote) Must-haves:1.Experience in project quality assurance, governance, or systems engineering2.Strong understanding of risk management, project lifecycle, and quality processes3.Experience working with project tracking and reporting tools (e.g., ADO, ServiceNow, or similar)4.Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills Job SummaryThe System Quality Engineer (SQE) for Hardware-Only projects is responsible for providing independent quality governance, assurance, and oversight across the project lifecycle. This role ensures that project risks, health status, and validation evidence are accurately represented, visible, and aligned with actual conditions.The SQE serves as a quality subject matter expert (SME) and advisor, reinforcing accountability with Project Managers (PMs) and project teams while identifying and escalating risks, gaps, and recurring issues. This position maintains clear boundaries between oversight and execution, ensuring project teams retain delivery ownership. Key Responsibilities:Governance & Quality Oversight:Perform regular project health assessments to validate alignment between reported and actual conditionsProvide independent oversight of project quality, risk visibility, and governance processesMonitor key governance artifacts (RIDAC, PHA, compliance metrics) for accuracy and completenessRisk, Issue, and Data ValidationReview project risk and issue tracking (RIDAC) for quality, aging, categorization, and visibilityIdentify incomplete, outdated, or inaccurate data and flag for PM correctionEscalate recurring or unresolved issues to maintain transparency and accountabilityEnsure ownership of risk and issue management remains with the Project Manager Project Health & Reporting:Validate Project Health Assessment (PHA) against verified project conditionsIdentify and challenge misalignment between reported status and actual progressSupport consistent and accurate quality reporting (e.g., weekly updates) Risk Identification & Escalation:Proactively identify risks, gaps, and inconsistenciesDifferentiate between isolated issues and systemic patternsEscalate recurring issues and support corrective action through governance channels Quality Standards & Documentation:Define and maintain quality documentation standards, templates, and runbooksEnsure validation evidence requirements are clearly established and understoodSupport audit readiness by ensuring documentation is accessible and complete Validation & Evidence Assurance:Verify that validation activities have been completed and are supported by evidenceConfirm documentation demonstrates:What was validatedWho performed validationWhen validation occurredEscalate gaps in validation evidence or documentation Stakeholder Engagement:Provide guidance to PMs and project teams on quality expectations and governance standardsReinforce accountability and role clarity across project teamsRedirect execution-related requests to appropriate owners Required Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Quality Management, or related field (or equivalent experience)Experience in project quality assurance, governance, or systems engineeringStrong understanding of risk management, project lifecycle, and quality processesExperience working with project tracking and reporting tools (e.g., ADO, ServiceNow, or similar)Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills Preferred Qualifications:Experience supporting hardware-only or infrastructure-focused projectsFamiliarity with governance frameworks, audit processes, and compliance standardsExperience with requirements traceability, validation practices, or quality reporting toolsAbility to operate effectively in cross-functional and matrixed environmentsScope of Responsibility (Role Boundaries) SQE Responsibilities:Governance, assurance, and quality oversightValidation of project data, reporting accuracy, and risk visibilityIdentification and escalation of issues and gapsDefinition of quality standards and documentation expectations Out of Scope Responsibilities:Creating, updating, or maintaining RIDAC itemsCorrecting project schedules or performing data cleanupExecuting project deliverables or recovery activitiesPerforming administrative or operational project tasksExpanding beyond governance, assurance, and reporting responsibilities Key CompetenciesStrong attention to detail and data validation accuracyAbility to maintain independence and objectivityEffective stakeholder communication and escalation skillsCritical thinking and risk identificationAbility to enforce standards while preserving relationships Success MeasuresAccurate and transparent representation of project healthTimely identification and escalation of risks and issuesClear accountability maintained with Project Managers and teamsConsistent adherence to governance and quality standardsAudit-ready documentation and validation evidence across projects Benefits Why QualityAI?
