Structural Welder

Structural Welder We are seeking an experienced Structural Welder to join our fabrication team in a shop environment. The ideal candidate will have experience performing MIG welding on structural steel components, reading blueprints, and working safely in a fast-paced fabrication setting. This position involves fitting, welding, and fabricating structural steel assemblies according to specifications and quality standards. Responsibilities Perform MIG welding on structural steel components and assemblies. Read and interpret blueprints, shop drawings, and welding symbols. Fabricate, fit, tack, and weld structural steel beams, columns, plates, and miscellaneous steel components. Operate welding equipment, grinders, cutting torches, and other fabrication tools. Inspect welds to ensure they meet quality and project specifications. Measure, mark, and lay out materials for fabrication. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area. Follow all company safety policies and OSHA guidelines. Assist with material handling using overhead cranes, forklifts, and other shop equipment as needed. Work efficiently to meet production deadlines while maintaining quality standards. Additional Skills & Qualifications Previous experience as a Structural Welder, Fabricator, or Combination Welder. Proficient in MIG welding on carbon steel. Ability to read and interpret blueprints and welding symbols. Experience working in a structural steel fabrication shop preferred. Ability to use measuring tools including tape measures, squares, levels, and calipers. Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship. Work Environment The role is based in a shop setting in Gaffney, SC. Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Gaffney, SC. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $28.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
